PRACTICE AREAS

Human Resource and Payroll

  • Process weekly and monthly payrolls and manage all statutory deductions such as PAYE, UIF, SDL, Pension/Provident fund, Medical Aid and submit all monthly returns.

  • Management of Human resource and legislation changes as required by the LRA. 

  • Implementation of Health and Safety regulations, including the COVID 19 as per the OHCS Act and requirements in the Human Resources side of the business.

Industrial Relations and Labour

  • Chairing Disciplinary; Grievance and Appeal hearings as per the codes of the employer, in case of misconduct or incapacity and ensuring that procedural and substantively is conducted as required by Relations Act 66 of 1995 as amend. 

  • Provide assistance to companies with all their Industrial Relations concerns. We train shop stewards, employees, and management on disciplinary procedures and company policies to ensure they practice fairness, consistency, and good practice in the workplace.

  • Facilitate employer / employee disputes at the MEIBC / CCMA including all the preparations and necessary bundles for Conciliation/Arbitration and Labour court cases.

Retrenchments and Restructuring ​

  • Facilitating staff reduction consultation processes including restructuring at the workplace or MEIBC / CCMA, as required by Section 189 and Section 197 of the Labour Relations Act. We ensure that the process is conducted in accordance with the LRA and that all parties’ rights are adhered to during the process.

  • Drafting of contracts for all permanent and temporary, or limited duration fixed term contracts as per company requirements and policies (i.e., smoking, dress code, light-duty, sexual harassment, firearm, SHE, Codes of Conduct, Alcohol, and drug abuse), etc.

  • Offering the full function and support to ensure that the candidates have the specified requirements and relevant skills to perform their duties and understand the values, mission and culture of the company.  We conduct the following checks - previous employment history, criminal and qualifications, and industry-related competency checks.
